Filmora: Create it with words

  1. Situation

In March 2024, Wondershare Filmora released version 13, introducing a groundbreaking Text-to-Video feature. To promote this update, the marketing team required a visually compelling promotional video that could clearly demonstrate the feature’s power and creativity to audiences.

2. Task

As the art director, I was tasked with creating the concept and visual direction for this campaign. It was also my first opportunity to guide a fellow motion designer through a project, ensuring the final piece reflected Filmora’s new brand identity, including the recently launched white interface.

3. Action

I developed the core concept, envisioning a playful yet stylish narrative centered around a couple in a bowling alley to highlight how text prompts could generate engaging video stories. To bring this to life, I:

  • Designed a series of keyframes to establish the visual storytelling and flow.

  • Created a starter project in After Effects, setting the animation foundation and structure for the collaborating motion designer to complete.

  • Ensured the new white interface was seamlessly incorporated into the visuals, aligning with the updated brand design.

  • Provided creative direction and feedback to the designer, balancing mentorship with ensuring a polished final product.

4. Results

The video successfully showcased Filmora’s Text-to-Video feature, generating strong engagement and excitement around the new release. The project marked a milestone in my career as it was the first time I led another motion designer, taking on both creative and leadership responsibilities while delivering a promotional piece that aligned with Filmora’s evolving brand identity.
